FAQ 2017-03-15T17:12:29+00:00

Why didn’t I get a reply to my enquiry?

We ALWAYS respond to all enquiries. If you have not received a response within a reasonable timeframe (24hrs usually), please do two things: first, please check your junk folder. Sometimes, our responses end up there for some reason. If you cannot find the response, something’s gone wrong. Please send us a message again. Please make sure you put the correct email address in the text field. Thank you!

What do I bring?

Bring yourself! We supply slippers, an apron, work towel and all of the equipment needed.
We recommend that you wear comfortable, casual clothing.

Are solo travelers welcome?

Absolutely! However, please note that we cannot run an experience or event for one. Therefore, your reservation may be subject to a later enquiry by another solo traveler. In that case, we will take your reservation and let you know immediately if and when someone else books the same experience for the same date. Our cooking classes are private events, we do not pair solos with couples or groups, only pair one solo traveler with another.

Can I come with my children?

Yes, please feel free to book a class for your family.

How many people are in the class?

Our cooking classes are private events. We never pair couples with other couples or groups or solo travelers. The maximum number of people that we can accommodate is 8.

Are the classes hands-on?

Yes. We don’t force you of course, but you should expect to get involved in the preparation during the class.

What are we going to cook?

You can decide on the dishes that you will cook, please take a look at our online menu and pick 1 soup, 1 main course and 1 dessert.

Can a friend or family member just come to eat?

Your friends and family are welcome to join us for the meal at the end of the class for a small additional cost person. Please be sure to let us know in advance, how many guests you will be inviting.

Can I come even though I never cook?

You are very welcome even though you are not a chef or never cook. It is not just about cooking but also a cultural experience.

I am a vegetarian/vegan/lactose intolerant/celiac. Are the experiences for me?

We do our best to accommodate every preference, allergy or restriction. That said, we still want to show a true image of what Hungarian cuisine is all about. For instance, Hungarian cuisine relies heavily on the use of sour cream, milk and heavy cream, and thus has very little to offer to vegans. Hungarian cuisine also focuses on meat, but we have good news, it is possible to make the vegetarian version of the famous Hungarian dishes. Celiacs (people with gluten allergy) are welcome to join our cooking classes.

How can I pay?

We do not request a deposit payment upfront. You can pay after the cooking class in cash.

Can I pay in Euros or US Dollars?

Yes, of course you can.

Can I use a card?

We are sorry but we do not accept credit cards at the moment.

What is your cancellation policy?

We understand that sometimes your travel plans may change due to unexpected circumstances.
We kindly ask you the email us at least 24 hours prior to your scheduled cooking class. We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule your class, we will inform you as soon as possible.
