Market Tour
&
Hungarian Cooking Class in Budapest
(5 hours)
This is a private, immersive culinary experience designed for travelers who want a deeper understanding of Hungarian food and culture – beyond restaurants and tourist attractions.
What to expect in your Market Tour & Hungarian Cooking Class?
We start with a guided walk through all three floors of the Central Market Hall – Budapest’s most iconic food market. You’ll explore both the food and non-food sections, tasting local favorites, along the way, we’ll share insights into everyday life and traditions, from paprika and pickles to handmade embroidery, porcelain, and folk art.
After the market, we take a short walk to our nearby apartment for your private cooking class.
In our home kitchen, you’ll prepare three traditional Hungarian dishes- from start to finish – with our help every step of the way. The exact menu can be tailored to your preferences. Once the cooking is done, we sit down together and enjoy the meal with a glass of wine or soft drinks.
No cooking experience is needed—just curiosity and a taste for something genuine and memorable.
Your program goes like this:

“Learning how to properly use and cook with paprika was only one of the many highlights of the class. Our walk through the market was interesting and informative. Agnes was wonderful at leading us through several traditional dishes. It was one if the best cooking classes I’ve taken on a vacation.”
“We really enjoyed the company and knowledge of Andrew on our market tour and cookery class. The market is excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed the cooking class with Andrew. What a fun and pleasurable way to spend a day in Budapest.”
“Whether you want to learn how to make local cuisine, meet local people or just get away from looking at monuments and museums, this is a wonderful way to spend a day. Agnes and Andrew were a great host and cook, and we had a lot of fun. Don’t skip the market trip, it might be the best part of your day.”
